Schlarman Catholic School

The primary Catholic educator of a Catholic child is the Catholic parent. "Words sound. Example thunders. A Catholic school assists parents in the Catholic and human formation of their child. A child’s soul and mind are formed according to the moral teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, "the Way, the Truth and the Life". Our Catholic school for Vermilion County is Schlarman Academy. Schlarman South (at Saint Paul’s parish) teaches pre-K through 6th grades. Schlarman North (on Winter Avenue) teaches 7th through 12th grades.

“Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith. Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2226)

It is first of all the parents who must teach their children to participate in Sunday Mass.
