About

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” (Psalm 133)

Holy Family parish is located in southeast corner of the Diocese of Peoria in Illinois, a swath of 26 counties stretching from the Indiana border to the Iowa border, from Rock Island county to Vermilion county. The bishop of the Diocese of Peoria is the Most Reverend Louis Tylka. He was appointed by Pope Francis in 2022. There are six dioceses in Illinois, each with its own bishop: Chicago, Joliet, Rockford, Peoria, Springfield and Belleville.

Just as the human body is made up of living cells; and just as society is made up of living cells called "the family"; so, in the same way, the Catholic Church, the Body of Christ, is made up of living cells called "parishes". These are local worshiping families united by the one, holy, catholic and apostolic faith. The beating heart of the parish family is the Most Holy Eucharist; i.e. Sunday Mass, the foundation and confirmation of all Christian practice.

I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep...and there will be one flock, one shepherd.
