Music

Choirs

Chancel Choir: The Holy Family Chancel Choir is open to men and women of high-school age or older. The Chancel Choir sings at every other 9:00am Sunday Mass and for high-feasts of the church year. Practices are Thursdays, September through May, at 7:00pm in the church. The Chancel Choir sings a range of music from Renaissance polyphony to newer sacred choral works. Anyone interested in joining can come to a practice or contact the Music Director at danvilleorganist@gmail.com.

Resurrection Choir: The Holy Family Resurrection Choir is open to men and women of high-school age or older. The Resurrection Choir sings for parish funerals and practices 15 minutes before the funeral. Since most parish funerals occur during the weekdays, a flexible schedule is needed to fully participate in this ministry. Please contact Sharon Truskosky through the parish office (217) 431-5100 for more details or to volunteer.

Cantors/Instrumentalists

Cantors: We are always looking for singers to cantor at Saturday 5:00pm Mass and Sunday 9:00am Mass. Participation in one of the choirs is not a requirement. Anyone who is interested should contact the Music Director to schedule an audition.

Instrumentalists: Holy Family music ministry is primarily led by our pipe organ. However, we often like to add instruments such as trumpet, brass quartet, flute, oboe, violin, cello, etc., to enhance the music at mass and feast days. If you are interested in serving the parish as an instrumentalist, please contact the Music Director to schedule an audition.
